Daniel Craig has officially entered the Oscar race with his latest film, “Queer,” which premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival. The 56-year-old actor, best known for his role as James Bond, stars in the movie directed by Luca Guadagnino (“Call Me By Your Name”), which is set in Mexico City and based on the novel by William S.
The film, which received a nine-minute standing ovation at its Venice premiere, features Craig as American expat William Lee and Drew Starkey as Eugene Allerton, a young student new to the city. The synopsis suggests that Lee’s encounter with Allerton may finally allow him to establish an intimate connection with someone.
